Al Hilal, who have already booked their place in the final four two matches before the end of the regular season, claimed their 16th victory of the campaign thanks to an Ahmed Al Khair own goal.

The triumph completed a successful week for Al Hilal, coming four days after the vital 2-0 away win over Pakhtakor in their second match of this year's AFC Champions League.

Al Hilal nearly opened the scoring only nine minutes into the game after an acrobatic pass from Yasser Al Qahtani to his strike partner Rodrigo, but the Brazilian's header went wide.

Al Hilal sealed the win in the 74th minute when Al Nasr defender Al Khair deflected Abdul Aziz Khathran's left-wing cross into his own net.

Saudi Arabia's other representatives in the AFC Champions League, Al Shabab, romped to a 5-1 win over Al Ahli, who fielded a second-string side as they are preparing for the semi-finals of the Arab Champions League next Wednesday.

Al Shabab opened the scoring after five minutes when Naji Majrashi successfully converted a spot-kick, before doubling his side's lead with another goal in the 30th minute.

Abdoh Autef made it 3-0 for Al Shabab five minutes later.

Majrashi completed his hat-trick in the 61st minute as he notched Al Shabab`s fourth goal, with Faisal Al Obaili putting the icing on the cake with the fifth in the 68th minute.

Al Ahli's only goal came through Saoud Al Khaibari in the 75th minute.

Elsewhere, two-time AFC Champions League winners Al Ittihad turned a 2-1 deficit into a priceless 3-2 win against Al Ittifaq thanks to two stoppage-time goals.

Al Ittihad took the lead through a powerful free-kick from Brazilian midfielder Wagner Santos Dias in the 16th minute.

However, Al Ittifaq levelled before half-time when Rashed Al Rahib struck home from the penalty spot.

Al Ittifaq made it 2-1 in the second period when Saleh Bashir found the target in the 54th minute.

But Al Ittihad did not give up and reaped their rewards in injury time.

Former AFC Player of the Year Hamad Al Montashari made it 2-2 in the 92nd minute, and then second-half substitute Hamza Idris headed home a dramatic winner two minutes later.
