Brisbane Roar coach John Aloisi has labelled Avram Papadopoulos’ send-off for spitting as “unacceptable” and says the club will come down hard on him.
Papadopoulos was given a straight red card after a video assistant referee review for a 75th minute incident where he spat in the direction of Sydney’s Matt Simon in Saturday’s 3-1 loss for Roar.
“It’s definitely out of character,” Aloisi told Fox Sports.
“He’s a nice guy but we don’t condone that.
“It’s unacceptable. We’ll deal with it within the club.
“Come Monday we’ll deal with it within.”
Fox Sports pundit Mark Bosnich said the incident was disgraceful and said Papadopoulos should be banned for six-to-seven matches at a minimum.
