Brisbane Roar coach John Aloisi places emphasis on the club's “good form” ahead of their semi-final clash against Melbourne Victory on Sunday night.
Roar lost 3-0 during the week in the AFC Asian Champions League (ACL) fixture against Thai side Muang Thong United, but won their last three games prior to that.
Victory have not played a game in over a fortnight and Aloisi stressed good form is important in finals as the Big V had a sluggish finish to the home and away season.
Aloisi said his men had “high spirits” with only Jade North in doubt with illness.
“We showed last week when we were 1-0 down (against Western Sydney Wanders in the Elimination Final), we didn’t fold,” Aloisi said.
“We know how to come back in, know how to win so that’s why we’re confident going into tomorrow’s game.
“Whatever people say, finals are different, you have to go in with good form and we’ve proved we’re heading into it in good form.
“We’re really focused on ourselves and not so much if Victory will be in good form. We know they’ll come out really hard, they do it well, press you from the beginning.
“We have to match that and make sure we start well, if we do that, we’re confident as the game goes on our football will come into play and we know we can create chances against any team.”
Aloisi was keeping in mind managing Matt McKay who has not played since coming off in the clash against Adelaide United with a knee injury on March 19 but was waiting until Sunday to make the call on whether he will start.

Both teams have the chance of becoming the first team to win four titles but neither Aloisi or Victory coach Kevin Muscat were using it as a motivation.
But Muscat and Aloisi were confident it would be a spectacle as the last clash at AAMI Park resulted in a 3-2 win to Victory as Besart Berisha was controversially sent off for what was seen as an elbow on Luke Devere.
“Luke did nothing wrong, decision went against Berisha, the feelings there is because you have two clubs which are successful in terms of trophies won,” The Roar boss said.
“It boils down to two teams that play an exciting brand and try to win. Two teams that go at it, hard at it and want to win and I’m expecting another exciting game but we’re excited and confident.”
Muscat added he had no resentment about the issue as Berisha’s suspension was rescinded.
“Ultimately the right outcome occurred. On that occasion the linesman more so than the referee was conned by the decision,” Muscat said.
“In the end we were forced to win the game with 10-men, but the right outcome occurred. There was no contact.”
