Barcelona defender Dani Alves said the ball is in Neymar's court over a possible move to the Catalan side.
The Brazil international has a contract with Santos until 2014, and has stated more than once that he intends to stay put until after the World Cup.
However, Barcelona are keen to lure the tricky attacker to Camp Nou, and they are hopeful Alves will be able to convince his compatriot to make the move to the Liga leaders.
"He (Neymar) is Brazil's best player and there is no doubt about it that he will further improve in Europe," Alves said.
"I can only give him advice, but it is up to him to make the decision whether he wants to join Barcelona or not."
The full-back discussed Lionel Messi's contract extension until June 2018, which was announced on Thursday.
"I think it was a special day for all Barca fans, because the team's best player will stay with the club for many years," he said.
"I’m very pleased, because I want my friends to do well and because I'll be able to spend many more years with him."
Barca are preparing for the Liga match at home to Getafe on Sunday.
