The Sky Blues’ 15-game unbeaten run ground to a halt with defeat to the K-League outfit, thanks to second-half goals from Dejan Damjanovic.

Sydney failed to register one single shot on target in the game where they were well below their usual standards.

“It’ll be a good wake-up call for everyone, the players, the staff,” Arnold said.

“We’ll have a good look at the game again. Obviously they changed things from what they were playing before, they played with a back five and closed down the space.

“We’ve got to be better than that.”

Arnold conceded his side weren’t themselves and appeared flat.

“Obviously the opposition is a step-up in quality, we looked a little bit flat,” Arnold said.

“We didn’t take the opportunities to be brave in front of goal. I thought the first half was quite even. Second half, we got stretched a little bit.

“It probably wasn’t our greatest performance but we’ll learn from it.”

Sky Blues skipper Alex Brosque admitted the side battled with Suwon’s tactics.

“We turned over cheap possession,” he said.

“They obviously came here and stacked their defence and tried to keep compact, which they did.

“I don’t think we moved the ball around in the right areas. We looked to do that, we spoke about it but we just didn’t do it well enough.

“In key areas we gave the ball away and we weren’t ourselves going forward either.”
