The 27-year-old confirmed to FourFourTwo he has inked a two-year deal with the K-League club who will compete in the 2017 AFC Champions League in Adelaide United’s group.

The Sydney-born defender has had a nomadic career, playing with the Parramatta Eagles before moving to Europe where he played for several clubs in Serbia, where he holds a citizenship.

Jovanovic has also had spells with Thai club BEC Tero Sasana, Korean clubs Suwon FC and Jeju before his one-year spell at Tianjin where he was a regular in defence.

The tall centre back has been lured back to Jeju by coach Jo Sung-Hwan who he played under in 2015 when he was also a regular.

Tianjin allowed Jovanovic to exit, having recruited Korea international Hwang Seok-Ho from Kashima Antlers, along with ex-Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel and Serbia international Nemanja Gudelj from Ajax.

Jovanovic is the latest Australian player to be affected by recent changes to the foreign player allowance in the Chinese Super League.
