The 19-year-old was introduced as a half-time substitute and pounced on a loose ball in the 67th minute to double Leicester’s advantage. Fellow sub Eric Odhiambo had put City in front 10 minutes into the second half.

Former Northern Spirit youngster Wesolowski recently penned a fresh contract at the Walkers Stadium which will see the Foxes retain his services until the summer of 2011.

And having progressed through Leicester’s youth system, he is now pushing to be part of new boss Allen’s first team plans for the new season.

Earlier this month, Allen said: “He has energy and he has enthusiasm. I am really looking forward to working with him and helping him get into the full Australian squad.”
