Ange Postecoglou's Yokohama F Marinos beat the Korean champions Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors 2-1 in Korea kicking off his first ACL campaign in Japan. They'll face Steve Corica's Sydney FC on Wednesday night.
In the Japanese League Cup Peter Cklamovski's Shimisu S-Pulse were battered 5-1 by Kawasaki Frontale. Mitchell Langerak kept a clean sheet against giants Kashima Antlers in a 1-0 win. Thomas Deng was absent from Urawa Reds 5-2 win over Vegalta Sendai.
In Saudi Arabia Craig Goodwin got an assist for Al Wehda in their 2-0 win over Al Ahli while Brad Jones kept his form up as Al Nassr beat Al Shabab 4-2.
In India Erik Paartalu played 90 minutes as Bengalurru fell to another defeat this season, this time going down 2-1 to Kerala Blaster.
