In the English Premier League Aaron Mooy and Mat Ryan were the men of the match as Brighton defeated Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 at home. 

Mooy and Ryan were singled out as having exceptional matches as Brighton jumped to 13th in the Premier League. 
 


In the Championship Adam Federici played 90 minutes in Stoke City's 2-1 win away to Swansea City. 

Bailey Wright was on the bench for Bristol City's 1-0 win over Reading while Jackson Irvine and Callum Elder were both absent in Hull City's 3-0 loss to Huddersfield. 

But Massimo Luongo - ruled out of the Socceroos with a knee knock - scored the winner in Sheffield Wednesday’s 1-0 win over Wigan.



In League One, Harry Souttar played 90 minutes for Fleetwood Town as they lost 1-0 to Ipswich Town. Ryan Edwards played a full game for Burton Albion in their 3-0 victory away to MK Dons.

In the Scottish Premiership Oliver Bozanic came on for the injured Loic Damour after 27 minutes for Hearts as they lost 1-0 at home to Kilmarnock. 

Lyndon Dykes scored a superb goal to knock off Scottish giants Celtic as Livingston won 2-0 at home. Dykes was substituted after 86 minutes.

Mark Milligan played a full game for Southend United as they lost 3-1 to Gillingham. 

In League Two Jordan Lyden returned from injury for Swindon Town playing 86 minutes in a 2-1 loss to Bradford City. 

Jack Iredale played a full match for Carlisle in a 1-0 loss to Newport County, as did Cameron Burgess in Salford City's 3-0 win over Walsall. 

In the English youth leagues Alexander Robertson played 40 minutes off the bench for Manchester City U18 in a 2-0 win over Wolves U18. 

EUROPE

In the UEFA Champions League Milos Degenek played 90 minutes for Red Star Belgrade as they triumphed 3-1 over Olympiacos. Degenek's performance was lauded by local media after Red Star came back from 1-0 down.

In the Europa League James Holland was the only Aussie to play 90 minutes as LASK Linz lost 2-1 to Sporting Lisbon. Socceroo Tom Rogic was left on the bench for Celtic's 2-0 win over Cluj and Aziz Behich was absent from Basaksehir's team that drew 1-1 with Borussia Mönchengladbach. 

In the Bundesliga Mathew Leckie played 11 minutes off the bench for Hertha Berlin in a 3-1 win over Fortuna Dusseldorf. 

Brandon Borrello was on the bench as Freiburg jumped to second in the Bundesliga with a 2-2 draw at home to Borussia Dortmund. 

John Iredale scored two goals and got an assist for Wolfsburg II as they smashed Heder 5-0. Iredale has scored eight in thirteen matches this season. 
 


Jacob Italiano started and played the first half while Christian Theoharous played six minutes off the bench in Borussia Mönchengladbach's 3-2 win over Rot Weiss-Essen. Joshua Laws also started and played the first half for Fortuna Dusseldorf II as they lost 3-1 to SV Rodinghausen. 

In Denmark Mustafa Amini played 90 minutes, Zach Duncan played 27 minutes off the bench and Alex Gersbach was an unused sub as AGF lost 2-0 to Randers.  

Awer Mabil played 90 minutes for FC Midtjylland in a 2-1 win away to Silkeborg. Mabil had a number of chances to score but couldn't convert. 

In Israel Nikita Rukavytsya scored again for Maccabi Haifa and played 83 minutes while Trent Sainsbury was absent as they beat Nes Tziona 3-0. Rukavytsya is top of the Israeli scoring charts. 



In Austria James Holland played a full game for LASK Linz in a 2-1 win away to Hartberg. James Jeggo also played 90 minutes for Austria Wien as they defeated his former club Sturm Graz 1-0. 

In the Netherlands Ajdin Hrustic assisted the first goal in Groningen's 3-0 win over RKC Waalwijk. Daniel Bouman was on the bench for SC Cambuur in a 4-0 win at home against Excelsior. 



Apostolos Giannou scored his first league goal of the season in AEK Larnaca's 5-1 win over Ethnikos Achna. 

In Croatia Fran Karacic played 90 minutes for NK Lokomotiv Zagreb as they drew 1-1 with NK Rijeka. Anthony Kalik was on the bench for Hajduk Split as they defeated Varazdin 2-0 at home. 

In Bulgaria Tomi Juric made his first appearance for CSKA Sofia in the league playing 13 minutes off the bench in a 4-0 win over Vitosha Bistritsa. 

In Turkey Aziz Behich was absent from Basaksehir's squad that defeated Gazesehir 2-1 away.

In Korea Jason Davidson made his debut for Ulsan playing 90 minutes in a 2-0 win over Gangwon. Davidson played ten minutes off the bench later in the week in a 2-1 loss to Pohang Steelers.

Rashid Mahazi played 90 minutes for Incheon while Bernie Ibini was an unused sub for Jeonbuk as the two shared the spoils in a 0-0 draw. 

Aleksander Susnjar was sent off after 32 minutes but his Busan managed a 2-0 win over Suwon City. 

In Japan Ange Postecoglou's Yokohama F Marinos kept the title race up with a 2-0 win away to Jubilo Iwata. Mitchell Langerak played 90 minutes as Nagoya Grampis earned a point against Oita Trinita. 

In Saudi Arabia Craig Goodwin put in a man of the match performance dor Al Wehda as they defeated Damac 1-0. 
 


In Thailand Eli Babalj was an unused sub for Chainat Thornbill in a 4-0 loss to Port FC while Joshua Grommen played 90 minutes for Sukhotai in a 2-2 draw with Ratchaburi.

NORTH AMERICA & AFRICA

In South Africa Kearyn Baccus started and played 72 minutes for Kaizer Chiefs as they defeated Golden Arrows 2-0.


In the MLS Brad Smith played a full match as Seattle Sounders narrowly defeated Minnesota United 1-0 at home.
