In Japan, Josh Kennedy scored a brace for Nagoya Grampus in their 3-1 win over Kashima Antlers. Kennedy opened the scoring in the 10th minute from the penalty spot before sealing the result on 76 minutes with his second goal to give Nagoya a 3-0 lead. Kennedy now has 6 league goals for the season.

In the UEFA Champions League qualifiers, Tom Rogic was missing through injury as Celtic beat IF Elfsborg 1-0 in the first leg. Neither Celtic nor Rogic have divulged information regarding the specifics of the injury but Rogic reassured fans on Twitter, tweeting “Thankfully nothing serious, should be back training next week.”

James Holland was an unused substitute as Austria Wien moved a step closer to Champions League qualification following a 1-0 win over Icelandic side FH Hafnarfjordor in the first leg.

In the Chinese Super League, Daniel McBreen found the back of the net for Shanghai SIPG in their 2-2 draw with Dalian Aerbin. McBreen put in his contender for goal of the season with an outrageous lob on the turn which looped over Dalian ‘keeper Zhang Chong from all of 30 metres.

Bernie Ibini made his starting debut for Shanghai, playing 90 minutes in the clash on the right-wing, while Daniel Mullen played a full game in defence for Dalian.

In South Korea, Alex Wilkinson continued his fine form, putting in a strong defensive performance as Jeonbuk Motors beat Daegu FC 1-0.

Elsewhere, Robbie Cornthwaite was a 71st minute substitute as Chunnam Dragons beat Seongnam 2-1, while Luke Devere was an unused substitute in Gyeongnam’s 3-1 loss to Ulsan Hyundai.

Adrian Madaschi was absent from the match-day squad as Jeju United lost 1-0 to FC Seoul, the former Melbourne Heart defender hasn’t seen any game time since May.
