In the English Premier League Mat Ryan and Aaron Mooy's Brighton lost 2-0 at home to Southampton. Ryan played 90 minutes while Mooy was an unused sub. 

It was a double match day in the Championship this week with all teams playing twice. Massimo Luongo played five minutes off the bench for Sheffield Wednesday in a 1-0 win over Luton Town and was an unused sub in a 2-1 loss to Preston North End. 

Jackson Irvine took the captain's armband for Hull City for the first time in their 1-0 loss at home to Blackburn Rovers. Later in the week Irvine was taken off after 88 minutes as Hull lost 3-1 to Bristol City. 

In League One action Ryan Edwards played 80 minutes for Burton in a 4-2 win over Oxford United and a full match in a 0-0 draw with Shrewsbury. Harry Souttar played two matches in central defence as Fleetwood Town drew 1-1 with Wycombe and kept a clean sheet in a 2-0 win over Accrington Stanley.

Mark Milligan's horror start at Southend United continues with two more losses and a nightmare own goal from the Aussie skipper. Southend lost 2-0 to Peterborough and 4-3 to Wycombe with Milligan playing 90 minutes in both games. 

In League Two, Jack Iredale played a full match for Carlisle United as they lost 2-0 to Cheltenham. Jordan Lyden completed 90 minutes for Swindon Town in a 1-0 loss to Northampton. 

In the Scottish Premiership Lyndon Dykes scored his first Premiership goal for Livingston in a 4-1 win over Ross County. Oli Bozanic was an unused sub for Hearts in their 3-1 loss to Celtic. 

In the English youth leagues Peter Gwargis scored for Brighton U23 as they defeated Leicester City youth 3-0. Tyrese Francois played a full game for Fulham U23 in a 3-1 loss to West Brom U23. Caleb Watts was absent from Southampton U23's squad as they lost 1-0 to Derby County U23. 

EUROPE

In continental qualifying Milos Degenek scored in a crucial 2-2 draw in the first leg of Champions League qualifying against Young Boys. James Holland played a full game but his LASK Linz fell 1-0 at home to Club Brugge. 

In Germany Mathew Leckie was on the bench for Hertha Berlin as they lost 3-0 at home to Wolfsburg. Brandon Borrello started and played 86 minutes as an attacking midfielder for SC Freiburg as they defeated Paderborn 3-1. 

Christian Theoharous played five minutes off the bench for Borussia Mönchengladbach II in their smashing 4-0 win over SV Lippstadt. John Iredale was a 67th minute substitute for Wolfsburg II in their 4-0 win over Norderstedt. Iredale scored last week and has four goals in six matches. Jacob Young was an unused sub for Hoffenheim II as they beat Mainz II 2-0. 

In Denmark Awer Mabil netted his first of the Danish Superliga season in FC Midtjylland's 2-0 win over SonderjyskE. 

Zach Duncan and Mustafa Amini both played full matches for AGF while Alex Gersbach was on the bench in AGF's 3-0 win over Brondby.

In Austria James Holland played a full match for LASK Linz as they drew 1-1 with Rapid Wien. James Jeggo was absent from Austria Wien's squad as they drew 2-2 with Hartberg. 

In Turkey Aziz Behich played a full match for Basaksehir as thye lost 2-1 to Fenerbahce.

In Israel Nikita Rukavytsya kept his goal scoring form up with a brace in Maccabi Haifa's 4-3 win over Hapoel Ra'anana. the Aussie scored the winner and has four goals in three weeks. 

In Belgium George Timotheou was absent from Zulte Waragrem's squad in a 0-0 draw with Sint-Truiden. 

In the Eredivisie Dylan Ryan was an unused sub for Willem II in a 2-1 win over FC Emmen. In the Dutch youth leagues Thomas Prinsen played 11 minutes off the bench for Jong Almere in their 6-0 victory against ONS Boso Sneek. 

ASIA

In Korea Adam Taggart played 86 minutes as Suwon Bluewings lost 2-0 to Gyeongnam. Jason Davidson is still missing from Ulsan Hyundai's match day squads. Ulsan defeated Sangju Sangmu 5-1. Rashid Mahazi, Bernie Ibini and Aleksander Jovanovic were all abent for their respective K-League clubs. 

Jason Davidson signed for Ulsan Hyundai in June and is yet to feature

In Japan Ange Postecoglou's Yokohama F Marinos bounced back from three league losses in a row with a 5-1 demolition of Nagoya Grampus. Mitchell Langerak was unlucky to be on the end of the goals for Nagoya. 

NORTH AMERICA & AFRICA

In the MLS Andy Rose's Vancouver Whitecaps lost 3-1 to San Jose with Rose playing 86 mintues in midfield. Vancouver are currently last in the Western Conference. 

In South Africa Kearyn Baccus played half an hour for Kaizer Chiefs as they drew 1-1 with SuperSport United.
