But it wasn't the best debut for the ex-Brisbane Roar man as Utrecht were beaten 4-0.

The opening two goals came from corners, before Zullo was caught out of position for the third as Diego Biseswar cruised down the left flank before producing a nice finish.

Tommy Oar came off the bench on 64 minutes and did some good things, but Feyenoord moved further ahead through Georgino Wijnaldum.

Jones claimed he was impeded and Derby boss Nigel Clough agreed, saying after the match that '99 out of 100 you get a free-kick for that'.

The Sky Blues doubled their lead on 39 minutes through Marlon King who was initially brilliantly denied by Jones, but eventually slotted home.
