In the English Championship, Mile Jedinak scored the winner and played a key role in Crystal Palace’s 3-2 win over Peterborough, a result which confirmed Palace’s participation in the promotion play-offs. Palace will play Brighton & Hove Albion in the first leg on Thursday.

Williams had a busy game in defence with Wednesday having a staggering 78% of possession in the first half, with the defender forced to clear a ball off his own line from Steven Howard’s strike. Boro finished the year in 16th position, a terrible result considering the North-East club were in third place at the turn of the year.
In the League One promotion play-offs, Massimo Luongo had a mixed day as Swindon Town drew 1-1 with Brentford in the first leg.
