IT WAS a largely quiet weekend for our Aussies Abroad with standout performances few and far between. Tommy Oar set up the match-winner in Holland, Alex Brosque impressed in the UAE, while former Tottenham Hotspur youngster Massimo Luongo continued his excellent form in the English lower-leagues.
Elsewhere, Oliver Bozanic picked up a knock, while Lucas Neill & Tom Rogic were again left on the bench for their respective sides.
In the English Premier League, Mile Jedinak played a full game in midfield as Crystal Palace returned to the bottom of the table following a 1-0 loss to Norwich City.
Mark Schwarzer was an unused substitute as Chelsea came from behind to beat Southampton 3-1.
Elsewhere, Brad Jones was an unused substitute as Liverpool suffered a shock 3-1 loss to Hull City, while Chris Herd was absent from the match-day squad as Aston Villa played out a 0-0 draw with Sunderland.
In the Championship, Rhys Williams returned to the starting line-up, playing a full game in defence as Middlesbrough beat Bolton 1-0. Just moments after Boro took the lead from the penalty spot, Williams gifted Bolton a penalty with a mistimed challenge on Andre Moritz, however Jermaine Beckford blasted the spot kick over the bar.
Scott McDonald started and played 60 minutes but had little impact as Millwall lost 3-0 to Leicester City. Shane Lowry was an unused substitute in the clash.
Elsewhere, Adam Federici was an unused substitute as Reading beat Nottingham Forest 3-2, while Alex Cisak was an unused substitute as Burnley lost top spot following a 2-1 loss to Huddersfield Town.
In League One, Massimo Luongo found the back of the net for Swindon Town in their 3-1 win over Carlisle United. Luongo opened the scoring with his sixth goal of the season, tapping home from close range following some excellent work from Alex Pritchard.
James Wesolowski played a full game and provided an assist as Oldham Athletic drew 1-1 with Bradford City. Wesolowski set up the equaliser on 39 minutes, bursting forward from midfield before laying it off for Jonson Clarke-Harris who thundered a stunning shot into the back of the net. James Meredith played a full game at left-back for Bradford.
Bailey Wright played a full game in defence as Preston North End beat Bristol City 1-0. Wright went close to opening the scoring in the first half but saw his header superbly blocked by Brendan Moloney. Neil Kilkenny missed the clash due to conditions in his loan deal.
Bradden Inman was absent from the match-day squad as Crewe Alexandra beat Crawley Town 1-0. Crewe manager Steve Davis revealed last week that Inman had been left out of the match-day squad due to a poor attitude.
In League Two, Ryan Williams played a full game as Oxford United drew 1-1 with Fleetwood Town.
Shane Cansdell-Sherriff played a full game in defence as Burton Albion beat Plymouth 1-0, while Aaron Downes played a full game in defence as Torquay United lost 3-1 to Scunthorpe.

In the Scottish FA Cup, Jackson Irvine played a full game as Kilmarnock were eliminated from the competition following a 5-2 loss to Dundee United.
Dylan McGowan played a full game in the centre of defence as Hearts copped a 7-0 thumping from Celtic. Tom Rogic was an unused substitute in the clash.
In the German Bundesliga, Robbie Kruse was a 78th minute substitute as Bayer Leverkusen beat FC Nurnberg 3-0.

In the German Second Division, Ben Halloran played a full game as Fortuna Dusseldorf suffered a 2-0 loss to Karlschruher. Halloran had some impressive moments in attack but his key impact on the contest came in his defensive half with a goal-line clearance from Selcuk Alibaz’s shot.
In the German Third Division, Mustafa Amini started and played 62 minutes as Borussia Dortmund II drew 1-1 with Holstein Kiel.
In the Dutch Eredivisie, Tommy Oar provided the assist for the match-winner as FC Utrecht beat Heracles 2-1. As the game entered the final 10 minutes, Oar whipped in a cross from the left which somehow evaded two Heracles defenders, allowing a simple finish for Jens Toornstra at the back post. Jason Davidson played a full game at left-back for Heracles, while Adam Sarota was absent from the Utrecht match-day squad.
Elsewhere, Eli Babalj remained out with a groin problem as AZ Alkmaar lost 3-2 to NEC Nijmegen.
In the Dutch Second Division, Travis Cooper was an 89th minute substitute as VVV Venlo beat Achilles 2-0.
Elsewhere, Andrew Marveggio was an unused substitute as SC Telstar lost 3-1 to FC Den Bosch.
In the Italian Serie A, Carl Valeri was absent from the match-day squad as Sassuolo continued their encouraging form with a 2-2 draw against Cagliari.
In Belgium, Mat Ryan kept a clean-sheet for Club Brugge in their 2-0 win over KV Oostende. Ryan was rarely called upon as the Oostende side created precious little.
In Switzerland, Oliver Bozanic started but was replaced after just 29 minutes with a lower leg injury as FC Luzern beat Grasshoppers 2-1.
In Austria, James Holland was missing through suspension as Austria Wien lost 1-0 to SV Grodig.
In Russia, Luke Wilkshire played a full game at right-back as Dinamo Moscow beat FK Ural 3-0.
