Just moments after Boro took the lead from the penalty spot, Williams gifted Bolton a penalty with a mistimed challenge on Andre Moritz, however Jermaine Beckford blasted the spot kick over the bar.

Scott McDonald started and played 60 minutes but had little impact as Millwall lost 3-0 to Leicester City. Shane Lowry was an unused substitute in the clash.

Wesolowski set up the equaliser on 39 minutes, bursting forward from midfield before laying it off for Jonson Clarke-Harris who thundered a stunning shot into the back of the net. James Meredith played a full game at left-back for Bradford.

Bailey Wright played a full game in defence as Preston North End beat Bristol City 1-0. Wright went close to opening the scoring in the first half but saw his header superbly blocked by Brendan Moloney. Neil Kilkenny missed the clash due to conditions in his loan deal.

Bradden Inman was absent from the match-day squad as Crewe Alexandra beat Crawley Town 1-0. Crewe manager Steve Davis revealed last week that Inman had been left out of the match-day squad due to a poor attitude.

In the Dutch Eredivisie, Tommy Oar provided the assist for the match-winner as FC Utrecht beat Heracles 2-1. As the game entered the final 10 minutes, Oar whipped in a cross from the left which somehow evaded two Heracles defenders, allowing a simple finish for Jens Toornstra at the back post. Jason Davidson played a full game at left-back for Heracles, while Adam Sarota was absent from the Utrecht match-day squad.
