Aziz Behich says the Socceroos aren't feeling pressure ahead of their next round of World Cup qualifiers.
Australia, currently in third spot in Group B, meets Iraq and the UAE in the next two matches. The Socceroos have slipped down to third after three consecutive draws.
Victories in both games would put them in a prime position to qualify for Russia, but Behich declined to describe the fixtures as "must-win" matches for Australia.
"We're just going to focus on the way we want to play, and just believe in the way we play and that will get us the result," the left back said.
"I don't think we've got pressure on ourselves. We just believe in the way we want to play."
Behich, who has 12 caps for his country, has won a recall to the Socceroos after being overlooked for several months with Brad Smith and Alex Gersbach preferred on the left of defence.
The fullback knows he has an opportunity in the next two games to cement a place.
"For any position and any player, but it's an opportunity to stake my claim," he says.
"This is a chance for myself to prove that if the chance comes, I'm ready to play in that spot.
I'm really excited to be back in the national team set-up, it's been a while. It's always been a goal of mine to make sure I'm always improving and be up for selection when the national team time comes."
Behich has been in solid form for his Turkish club Bursaspor this season. The 26-year old said he has been working hard to get back into the frame for the national team.
"It always is a motivating factor," he admits.
"It's the pinnacle of being a footballer, playing and representing your country. Playing at Bukas I'm just trying to keep fit and play as many games as I can. At the moment the body's in good shape and I'm just looking forward to the next 10 days.
The Socceroos face Iraq at the PAS Stadium in Tehran on Thursday. Behich hopes the stadium is at capacity for the match.
"It's going to be a good experience for all us," the former Melbourne City defender said.
"I'm hoping it's a full stadium to make the occasion special and hopefully we can get out of here with the win."
