Nothing short of a win will do for Bahrain - unless India cause a massive upset against South Korea - and while they have played the Socceroos four times in the past four years for four consecutive losses, Sharida believes his side can get the three points at Al Sadd Stadium in Doha.

"We know everything about Australian team," he told reporters. "We have played them four times and we know them one by one and all their players’ abilities.

"We know their capabilities but we also know our own capabilities and we will strive to reach our goal and win. We care only about winning this because it is a decisive match.

"We have to win to qualify. We have to focus on that because a draw helps Australia and not us."

Sharida was playing his selection cards close to his chest, but did admit that he had some fresh injury concerns.

"We have had many injuries and these have increased in the last few days, but the players I have now in my team can do their best," he said.

“We cannot disclose who are injured. We are waiting for the medical report and after that we will decide in 24 hours."

Attacking midfielder Faouzi Aaish, who has scored in each of the two games to date, is suspended for the match.

Bahrain know plenty about cut-throat games of football having missed out at the final stage of qualifying for the past two World Cups.
