BAYERN Munich president Franz Beckenbauer admits he would have a "bad conscience" were the German giants to accept an 80million euro bid from Real Madrid for Franck Ribery.
Madrid are keen to make the Frenchman their fourth galactico signing of the summer following the arrivals of Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.
According to reports in Germany, Bayern want 80m for Ribery, but Beckenbauer claims he would be uncomfortable with such a fee.
"I would have a bad feeling," he told the Passauer Neue Presse. "The sums being negotiated are crazy.
"But you will always find some lunatic who throws money around."
Beckenbauer suggested a transfer for Ribery would not go through this summer.
"Before the end of August there will be no decision, then the transfer window closes, he added.
