Belgium showed they meant business when they took the lead after just six minutes through winger Eden Hazard who scored a penalty after he was brought down just inside the Tunisian box.

The Red Devils in-form striker Romelu Lukaku then scored a second for Belgium 10 minutes later after he was set up by winger Dries Mertens.

Tunisia hit back a few moments later when a free kick from the left was curled in by Wahbi Khazri and right back Dylan Bronn glanced a header into the bottom right hand corner.

Belgium then made it 3-1 in first half injury time when an excellent ball from right back Thomas Meunier set up Lukaku whose deft chip went over the keeper.

Early in the second half a sublime through ball by Kevin De Bruyne delivered from inside his own half found Hazard  who skilfully rounded the keeper and scored his second.

Substitute striker Michy Batshuayi completed the route to make it 5-1 but it took him four goes to do it but it was a fine finish to a quality Belgium move nonetheless.

Tunisa scored a late consolation to make the score look respectable but Belgium look the goods.

Belgium

Thibaut Courtois (GK) - 6

Not a busy game but still conceded two goals

Toby Alderweireld - 6

Put in a decent performance in defence when Tunisia was coming at them in the first half

Dedryck Boyata - 6

Did well to cover for Belgium’s wingbacks and made some important challenges particularly in the first half.

Jan Vertonghen - 6

A solid defensive display but gave the ball away a couple of times.

Thomas Meunier - 8

Was busy with a shot on goal early and his deft pass found Lukaku for his second and Belgium’s third.

Yannick Carrasco - 8

All attacking and no defending was the story for Belgium’s left wing back who was a constant menace all over the park.

Kevin De Bruyne - 9

No flies on this midfielder who was class throughout.  Started off the move for Belgium’s third goal and his lobbed through ball down the middle released Hazard for the Red Devils fourth.

Alex Witsel - 8

Very consistent on the ball and a classy performance in midfield

Dries Mertens - 8

Lovely pass to set up Lukaku for Belgium’s second and was a dangerous presence out wide.

Eden Hazard - 9

His explosiveness earnt Belgium a penalty for their first goal and also saw him get on the end of an excellent pass for the Red Devil’s fourth strike early in the second half.

Romelu Lukaku - 9

The Manchester United forward scored two excellent goals with cool composed finishes.

SUBS

Marouane Fellaini 6

Was solid if unspectacular

Michy Batshuayi 7

Could have had five goals - missed three sitters before scoring Belgium’s fifth.

Tielemans 6

Showed his class with a curled a cross from the right to set up Batshuayi.

Tunisia

Ben Mustapha (GK) - 5

Looked shaky at times with Lukaku and Hazard making him look silly.

Dylan Bronn - 6

The right back scored Tunisia’s goal to put it back to 2-1 but left the field after only 23 minutes with a knee injury.

Yassine Meriah - 5

Had a torrid time facing the might of Belgium attack but did well to hoick Batshuayi shot off the line in the second half.

Syam Ben Youseff - 4

The central defender gave away the penalty in the first five minutes and poor defensive play almost led to Belgium’s third goal then was substituted in the 41st minute due to injury.

Ali Maaloul - 5

The left back lost the ball that led to Belgium’s first goal and that wasn’t the first time he was lazy in possession.

Ferjani Sassi - 5

The central midfielder was mostly mediocre in a team that struggled to keep up with Belgium and was substituted in the 59th minute.

Elleys Skhiri - 5

While not the worst player his performance was nothing to really write home about.

Anice Badri - 5

The right winger really didn’t get into the game for the second game in a row.

Saifeddine Khaoui - 5

The new man in Tunisia’s midfield showed some nice skill but failed to impose himself

Wahbi Khazri - 7

Delivered a nice cross for the first goal, pulled off a rabona cross and was a threat from distance and was rewarded with a consolation goal at the death. Tunisia’s best player,

Fakheredine Ben Youssef - 5

The ginger haired striker was pretty quiet except for volley outside the box that he mis-timed in the first half.

SUBS

Hamdi Nagguez - 6

The full back did well to set up Tunisia’s second goal with dribble and cross.

Benalouane - 5

Not a good day to be in the back line probably have wished he was a second half sub than a first half one.

Sliti - 5

Didn’t really make a significant impact
