Dimitar Berbatov wants to repay Tottenham fans for making him welcome in England by bringing silverware to White Hart Lane.
The 25-year-old was bought in the summer for £10.9million from German side Bayer Leverkusen, where he suffered a treble disappointment in 2002 by finishing runner-up in the league, cup and Champions League.
Berbatov is in the hunt for the FA Cup and UEFA Cup this season and victory would end an eight-year trophy drought for Spurs fans, who have given their Bulgaria striker hero status.
"I hope I can score for them in the future and entertain them because, although football is business, I try to do good things," he said.
"It's really enjoyable having support from the fans and they have been behind me from the first minute."
His performance against Bolton in the Barclays Premiership yesterday was hailed as the finest boss Martin Jol has seen from a lone striker, with Berbatov leading the attack after Robbie Keane was sent off for handling on the line.
It was in stark contrast to his previous match against Sam Allardyce's men, his Spurs debut which ended in defeat at the Reebok Stadium.
Since then he has settled into the Premiership life, and into English culture by learning the language through American gangster films.
Such is the progress he and the club have made, Berbatov believes winning a trophy is a realistic possibility.
He added: "My first game was an experience I'll never forget. It was not good and we lost but it was a long time ago and things are different now, I've learnt a lot.
"Against Bolton this time, not only me but everyone showed that we are a great club with a great future and, if we carry on like that, we can achieve a lot."
Graham Poll dismissed Keane for handball nine minutes before the break against Bolton, and Spurs have appealed to the Football Association to overturn the decision, with the ball appearing to hit the striker's chest before dropping onto his arm.
"I honestly think he did not deserve the red card," added Berbatov.
"We showed that sometimes, when you go down to 10 men, there is fight, we showed that we have great spirit."
Keane's dismissal gave Berbatov the platform to show his class, his stunning control bringing Spurs fans to their feet.
Midfielder Jermaine Jenas purred: "He played against three men and was plucking balls out of the sky, winning headers and holding them off.
"He was exactly what we needed - he stood up to be counted."
Berbatov was a target for Manchester United before he agreed to sign for Jol, who insists the heavy price tag was never a gamble.
"The gamble with European players is whether they can put up with the physical side and that was never going to be a problem for him. He was always going to do well," said the Spurs boss.
"It's difficult because he knows how badly I wanted him, how I love him as a player - he wants to do well for me and the club so that's great."
Jol believes Spurs can offer Berbatov the chance to banish the memories of 2002.
"It would do a hell of a lot more for your confidence if you win three finals but it means it is now something he wants to do, to play and to win trophies, and he wants to play here," Jol said.
"Otherwise, I can't come up with a reason why he chose here because there were other English clubs who wanted him."
Keane scored twice against Bolton, with Jenas and Aaron Lennon netting the other goals, while Gary Speed's penalty was the visitors' reply.
Berbatov added: "After the game, I was a little disappointed because every striker wants to score, whether it's with your nose or with your knee, it must be in the net.
"Maybe next week."

Keane's appeal against denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity will be heard by FA officials on Tuesday. It was the first red card he had received in his professional career.
