Osaka traveled to the island of Kyushu and beat Oita Trinita 2-1 with Bare scoring in the 12th and 75th minutes on Wednesday night.

These were the 26-year-old Brazilian’s first goals of the J-League season after four rounds. Osaka also beat Tokyo Verdy 2-1 last Sunday to string together some good domestic form ahead of their Australian trip.

Bare added to his tally this weekend when Akira Nishino’s men beat Shimizu 2-0 in Osaka this weekend with Bare playing all game and scoring his side's second.

He was tipped to be rested this weekend but with Bare back in goal-scoring form, coach Nishino gave his gun striker more game time to further boost his confidence before the squad flies to Melbourne today.

Victory coach Ernie Merrick knows all about the 26-year-old’s danger having watched the tall, powerfully built frontman score four goals to help destroy Houston 6-1 in the final of the Pan Pacific Championships in Honolulu in February.
