The 44-year-old succeeds fellow Serbian Milovan Rajevac, who completed his two-year contract last year.

The former Partizan Belgrade coach finalised the details of his contract with the Ghana Football Association today and will be unveiled at a press conference tomorrow.

A Ghana FA statement read: "The Ghana Football Association has appointed a new coach for the Black Stars, Goran Stevanovic.

"We have successfully negotiated with the coach and he will replace his compatriot, Milovan Rajevac.

"The coach will be presented to the public at a press conference at the GFA on Wednesday, 12 January 2011 at 10am."

Ghana will meet England in a senior international for the first time in a friendly clash at Wembley on March 29.

The match will take place three days after Fabio Capello's side play their first Euro 2012 qualifier of the year in Wales.
