SHEFFIELD UNITED chairman Kevin McCabe has urged fans not to go ahead with a planned protest during Sunday's televised FA Cup clash with Manchester City.
A large section of Blades supporters are understood to be ready to mount a demonstration in front of Sky Sports TV cameras following McCabe's decision this week not to sack under-fire manager Bryan Robson.
McCabe said: "We have a worldwide audience on Sunday and I want to see a united United."
John Gorman and Jason Dodd have been put in caretaker charge of SOUTHAMPTON following George Burley's decision to take the Scotland job.
Saints are beginning the search for a new manager with former Derby boss Billy Davies, ex-LEICESTER and COVENTRY chief Micky Adams and Glenn Hoddle - who managed the club for just over a year in 2000 - all being linked with the role.
BLACKPOOL's Latvian president Valery Belokon has dismissed reports of a bust-up with chairman Karl Oyston.
Belokon, whose £4.5million investment over three years has bought him around 20% of the Coca-Cola Championship outfit, has not attended matches regularly this season.
Oyston, meanwhile, has declined to give interviews to the media since the start of the campaign, fuelling speculation of a rift between the pair.
However, Seasiders director Normunds Malnaks - Belokon's right-hand man - told the Blackpool Gazette: "As we all know, football is full of rumours and this is one of them.
"Mr Belokon is enjoying good relations with both Oystons as ever before."
The winning design for a statue of former NOTTINGHAM FOREST manager Brian Clough has been unveiled and work will now start on the bronze tribute to the double European Cup-winning boss.
