The former Manchester United player is expected to leave Les Girondins after tomorrow's game against Lens and has been linked with the France job, which will be vacated by Raymond Domenech following this summer's World Cup finals.

Former Marseille manager Eric Gerets and ex-Lyon and Paris St German boss Paul Le Guen have both been suggested as replacements for the former Manchester United defender at Bordeaux.

However, Blanc refused to be drawn at a press conference ahead of tomorrow's vital game which sees Les Girondins need to win and hope Montpellier get nothing more than a draw if they are to make the Europa League - a far cry from the Champions League success they enjoyed this season.

He said: "As I have said before, I am pretty stubborn.

"I am originally from the Cevennes and they say the people are stubborn. I shall do as I say, I will talk about my future at the end of the season after May 15."

Blanc insisted that while he would speak to his players on Sunday morning, it would be a chance to review their disappointing season rather than make any special announcement, and stressed what was said would remain private.

He said: "This is internal communication, it concerns only the players and me. I have not planned for outside communication.

"I will mainly take stock of the season. To say goodbye quickly at the airport car park at 3am is not a good way to go on holiday. After all the events of a season, to say goodbye in this way is not good.

"This was especially true last season. We won the title and we were scattered everywhere. There will be training on Sunday morning. We will look at the positives and negatives of the season."
