And Blokhin also believes victory for Alex McLeish's side will make them favourites to qualify for Euro 2008 as Group B winners.

Scotland lead the way so far after victory over France last month propelled the national side one point ahead of the French in second place, two points clear of the Italians and eight points clear of tomorrow's visitors to Hampden.

Blokhin said: "This is our last chance to do something if we have any hopes of qualifying from the group.

"I hope my team understand what is at stake in the game and they are proud to play and give it everything for their country.

"Winning is also essential for Scotland and I believe that if they do that they would have a 90% chance of going on to win the group."

Blokhin, who made his name with Dynamo Kiev, will have the likes of Chelsea's Andriy Shevchenko and highly-rated Zenit St Petersburg ace Anatoliy Tymoschuk at his disposal.

And despite pinpointing the absence of Darren Fletcher from the Scotland squad through injury as a boost for his side, he is more fearful of the threat from the home side as a unit and the frenzied atmosphere he anticipates inside Hampden.

He added: "We must have a good strong start and I expect us to be under pressure at the beginning of the game.

"The size of the crowd will also help Scotland and we need to avoid making mistakes in the first 15 minutes and if we do that I think that we will do okay."

Blokhin also stated that he has no intention of sitting back in a game of such importance and is considering all of his attacking options.

He said: "We may even have a situation where we have three strikers on the field with Shevchenko, Andriy Vorobei and Andriy Voronin playing."
