A terrific defensive performance from Central Coast Mariners will lead to Brisbane Roar ruing their missed chances in a riveting 1-1 draw at Suncorp Stadium.
CENTRAL COAST MARINERS
Ben Kennedy - 6.5
A comfortable save denied Adam Taggart's header early in the second half before flying through the air to stop Hingert's long range volley.
Kye Rowles - 7.5
Rowles had a difficult time dealing with the combo of O'Toole and Mikkelsen without the help of Connor Pain. He gradually improved as the match wore on and was superb towards the end of the game.
Kalifa Cisse - 6.5
Cisse's positioning was poor in the first half as Taggart and Mauk made decisive runs in behind the Malian defender leading to countless chances for Brisbane. His desperation and last ditch defending amidst VAR controversy was commendable.
Antony Golec - 7
A well timed sliding tackle dispossessed Adam Taggart which kick started the move that led to Connor Pain's opener in the 3rd minute. Without Golec the Mariners could have conceded three by half-time.
Jack Clisby - 6
Clisby's set piece left a lot ot be desired while his defensive stability was seriously tested against Eric Beatheac. A game saving challenge as Clisby came across Henrique before the Brazilian pulled the trigger.
Michael McGlinchey - 5
Mcglinchey didn't get the chance to be creative with less than 40% possession for the Mariners. The Kiwi international had a rather quiet game for the Mariners.
Tom Hiariej - 6
A superb outside of the foot pass to Connor Pain set the winger free as he finished calmly for 1-0. A muscular performance from the Dutchman that stymied Brisbane's forward momentum at times.
