"When I'm finished playing in Europe I'd want to come back to Adelaide United. As long as Nick Bianco is there and the owner, I'm definitely going to go back there," Djite told au.fourfourtwo.com.

Bianco has been a long-time supporter of football in South Australia and has invested heavily in the Reds' campaign in Asia. His vision and passion is now seeing its just rewards and Djite knows it.

"I'm a Sydney boy, but I can't think of playing for any other A-League club," he said.

"And to the fans, just keep supporting the Reds. You're so privileged to have the best club in the A-League."

The 21-year-old striker departed Hindmarsh in the off-season bound for Genclerbirligi in the Turkish Super League - the same club that a year earlier had Nicky Carle on its books.

Quizzed on whether Djite has any lingering regrets that he left the Reds just months before the club's most glorious chapter and the striker is adamant the move has benefited all concerned.

"No regrets," he said. "I think the club has won in so many ways. They did a good piece of business in selling me.

"I'm improving as a footballer and the club is improving as a team since Burnsy [Nathan Burns] and I left, and they're going to make even more money at the club world championship [Club World Cup].

"So business wise and football wise it's been good."

Djite has keenly followed his former side's progress while in Turkey and is overjoyed with what's happened since he left town.

He added: "It's an unbelievable achievement.

"After they beat Kashima I sent a message to the club's president Nick Bianco – who I have so much respect for – and I keep in touch with the boys and Viddy [coach Aurelio Vidmar].

"I just shows the quality of Aurelio's coaching skills, he's certainly one of the best coaches I've ever had. Tactically, he doesn't make many errors if any. And there's no reason why they can't win the Asian Champions League final.

"I'm so proud. So proud to be a small part of that success. To me, anyone who says they're' not the best club in the A-League are just lying to themselves.

"It's absolutely the best club in the A-League. Top of the competition; Champions League finalists. I'd be hard pressed to find anyone who'd be pressed to say they're not the best club in the country."
