NATHAN Burns has vowed to snub a move to Sydney if Adelaide United offer him a new contract to stay at Hindmarsh next season.
Young striking ace Burns is said to be top of Sydney's shopping list as coach John Kosmina looks to revamp his aging side with an injection of youth.
But Burns is also being targeted as a possible bargain buy by clubs in Europe when the transfer window opens in January.
And while the Olyroo star is prepared to turn down Sydney to stay at Adelaide, a move overseas may tempt him away.
"Definitely I want to go overseas, there's no doubt about it," he told the Adelaide Advertiser.
"But I'm not quite sure about the right time, next year or the year after."
"If Viddie (coach Aurelio Vidmar) wants to fit me into his plans, yeah definitely (I'd stay). I've been here and the club has done a lot for me.
"I think I have to honour them and stick around if they offered me a good contract."
He added: "It's going to be a lot easier to prepare for the Olympics in Australia."
Kosmina is also said to be interested in snapping up Kristian Sarkies and Dez Giraldi who, like Burns, have contracts running out in June.
"I suppose it's just a rumour," Burns told teh Advertiser. "Kossie hasn't mentioned anything to me.
"But Kossie maybe wants to build a team next year with youth and experience."
