Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro and striker Luca Toni have been included in Marcello Lippi's 22-man squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Cyprus and Georgia.
The pair missed the friendly against Austria through injury but have now been declared fully fit.
Alessandro Gamberini and Morgan De Sanctis also return from injury but Simone Perrotta misses out after picking up a knock.
There is no place once again for Antonio Cassano who was left out against Austria, Lippi's first match back in charge of the Azzurri since winning the World Cup in 2006 - a tournament for which the controversial Sampdoria striker also failed to make the cut.
The Azzurri will travel to Cyprus for their first World Cup qualifier on September 6 before taking on Georgia four days later.
