BRISTOL City could complete the signing of Nick Carle today after the Socceroo was granted a visa.
The Robins had already agreed a fee for the 26-year-old and did not expect a decision from the Home Office until next week. However, Carle's application has been accepted and he has arrived in England.
"We are delighted that he has been granted a visa sooner than anticipated," said City boss Gray Johnson. "It could be as soon as Friday that he signs."
STOKE boss Tony Pulis has expressed his delight at signing Danny Pugh on a permanent basis from PRESTON.
The former Manchester United trainee has penned a three-and-a-half year deal after the Potters agreed to pay £500,000 for the 25-year-old defender.
Pugh moved to the Britannia Stadium on loan two months ago and will officially become a City player on January 15.
