To see Castrol's 'Ultimate Footballer'...

The rather, umm, unique looking creation from the oil merchant's think tank of football performance statistics has broken the footballer into 10 vital areas and placed the best players for each function (see image five in the photo gallery for full explanations). The results produced:

Height: Peter Crouch
Hair: Carles Puyol
Eyes: Xavi Hernandez
Chin: Paolo Maldini
Chest: Michael Ballack
Arms: Rory Delap
Hands: Julio Cesar
Legs: Cristiano Ronaldo
Left Foot: Lionel Messi
Right Foot: Thierry Henry

"While he may look a little odd," claimed Castrol (you're telling us!!!). "The 6'7" Castrol EDGE Ultimate Performing Player boasts a transfer value of over $450 million."

Using video footage, photography and face recognition techniques, Castrol whipped up the image of the Frankenstein creation and then the model was then cast, with the inclusion of a metal frame, before being coated with fibre glass and wax.

Ivory Coast manager, Sven Goran Eriksson, who unveiled the model, said: "I've been lucky enough to work with many of the world's best footballers in my career, but this truly is the Ultimate Performing Player. Within this one player Castrol has included all the attributes, both physical and mental, that a manager looks for in his signings."

Cristiano Ronaldo, whose legs feature on the model, added: "I am very proud that my legs have been included here because all players know that the legs are so important to our game, they are where you generate your speed, agility and power.   It would be interesting to play against him and see how I compare; it would be the ultimate test!"
