Italy's interior minister Roberto Maroni announced on Wednesday that Catania fans will be banned from travelling to the San Siro on Saturday for their team's away Serie A game at Internazionale.
The decision made by Maroni goes against that of the independent body that monitors Italian soccer hooliganism, L'Osservatorio nazionale sulle manifestazione sportive, who only 24 hours earlier had granted permission to Catania fans to travel to Milan this weekend.
Catania supporters had already been restricted last season by L'Osservatorio from attending their team's away games over fears for public safety.
