One of the A-League's most pulsating games of the season so far came to an end after 100 minutes of football as Central Coast Mariners somehow saw off Melbourne Victory 3-2 after two late penalties.
Lewis Miller - 5.5
Quieter than Oar on the opposite side in attack but excellently provided Murray to head the equaliser.
Milan Duric - 5
Too keen to shoot from distance with better options available. Wasteful with his many opportunities.
Gianni Stensness - 6
The most disciplined of the Mariners midfield and it was much-needed. Broke up play vitally several times.
Tommy Oar - 8
A tremendous deliverer of the ball. Consistently found the towering Murray with his crosses and was the main outlet for his side.
Daniel De Silva - 5.5
Tried to be creative but the style of play used by Mariners suited the use of Oar and Miller and the width more.
Jordan Murray - 6
The target man was wasteful with numerous headers but finally grabbed one from Miller’s pinpoint cross. Held the ball up well under challenges too.
Jair - 5.5
The little striker complemented his partner well. Constantly made troubling runs for the Victory rearguard.
Substitutes
Matt Simon - 8
What can you say? Scored two penalties, started a fight, ripped his shirt, and won the game for his side. What an impact by the club favourite.
Samuel Silvera - 5.5
Overshadowed by Simon but played some nice passes in the final third.
Michael McGlinchey - 5.5
The veteran has been out of the picture for a while but used his experience to gain the winning penalty call.
