But manager Alex McLeish is optimistic it will not be too serious.

"We will do a check on Kevin, he thinks he`s tweaked his hamstring but he doesn't think it`s too bad and he`s a quick healer," said the Blues boss. "But we`ll wait for the scan results."

CHARLTON striker Chris Dickson has withdrawn his transfer request less than a month after stating his desire to leave the club.

He told the News Shopper: "I did put in a transfer request as I just felt like I wasn't getting the rub of the green with regards to playing.

"But I'm happy, I'm playing football and I'm enjoying playing football and I just want to get us up the table and make sure we stay in the Championship.

"From what I know, I'm still transfer listed but obviously a withdrawal's imminent. I'm playing and I'm enjoying it, so it's definitely withdrawn now."

CRYSTAL PALACE youngsters Jamie Smith and James Dayton have been told they are free to leave the club after they were not offered contact extensions.
