Lazio reached an agreement with the Greek giants earlier this month to sign the France international in a reported 5.8million euro deal.

The 29-year-old was welcomed by 300 Lazio fans at Rome's Fiumicino airport this morning and is set to sign a four-year contract with the Biancoceleste club.

The former Liverpool, Sunderland and Marseille star will become Lazio's sixth summer signing following the arrivals of Marius Stankevicius, Miroslav Klose, Federico Marchetti, Abdoulay Konko and Senad Lulic.

Lazio finished fifth in Serie A and will play in next season“s Europa League.
