MELBOURNE Heart's Simon Colosimo heads to old club Sydney FC this week warning his troops their last-gasp win at Adelaide will count for nothing if they don't back it up against the struggling Sky Blues.
Colosimo headed his team's 89th-minute equaliser at Hindmarsh Stadium before John Aloisi struck a stoppage time winner.
Heart travel to Sydney for their next challenge and a chance to widen the gap between themselves and Vitezslav Lavicka's men.
“Playing away at Adelaide, we were always going to be up against it, so to score was great. But to pick up the three points was fantastic,” Colosimo told the Herald Sun.
“We've not been down on confidence about the way we've been playing, but more down on confidence about closing games out and finishing chances. But it's pointless now to win if we don't go on with it.”
Colosimo said he had had a feeling that his team could secure all three points in the contest.
“Even with an hour played, I could sense they were sitting back and not attacking in numbers, so I tried to get it across to the boys that if we got one (goal) we were a huge chance,” he said.
“I didn't realise it was the 89th minute and thought we had more time. But I just had it in my head if we got one, we'd get another.”
