McCormack, who appeared five times for Central Coast, scoring once, has been loaned to Motherwell after returning to Villa Park. The Scot originally returned to his parent club after picking up an injury.

The former international originally moved to Melbourne City after falling out with former Villa manager Steve Bruce and boasted a devestating goal record with City, reclaiming the success he had in the Championship during the 2015/16 season, when he scored 21 goals.

But after a dip in form, McCormack hasn't played for promotion-seeking Villa since September 2017.

"I would like to thank the Central Coast Mariners and the fans for welcoming me on the Central Coast with open arms," McCormack said after leaving the Mariners.

"Although I was only there for a short period, everyone made me feel very welcome from day one.

"The opportunity for me to return to the UK is something that I couldn't turn down and will allow me to see my children more, which is something that is very important to me.

"I wish the playing group and coaching staff all the best for the rest of the season."
