ADELAIDE United coach Rini Coolen admitted his side didn't produce their best performance in the 2-1 win over Newcastle Jets but was delighted to take all three points.
"I don't think we played our best game today. We started well, scored a good goal and controlled the game," Coolen said.
"We lost a little bit of control in the game (in the second half) and then it was a terrific goal from Flores, that was a real good moment for us and after that we controlled the game again.
"We were the better team today. It wasn't our best but if you play bad or not as good as last week and still win your points in your home games, then it gives us a good feeling for the moment, but we can do better."
Newcastle Jets skipper Michael Bridges said his side toiled hard but could not get the job done.
"It's been one of those nights where we haven't been able to get the goal that we needed, it's taken a slip up to give us the confidence to try to get back into the game," Bridges said.
"But the boys had character and the work rate tonight was fantastic, we tried to hang in there, unfortunately tonight we have come away with nothing."
Adelaide's next match is away to Brisbane Roar on Saturday.
