Brazilian star Philippe Coutinho says the perfect birthday present would be beating Australia in front of their home fans.
The Liverpool star has enjoyed a cold week in Melbourne with the national team but wants to make amends after losing 1-0 to Argentina in front of 95,000 at the MCG on Friday.
Coutinho’s celebrated his 25th birthday today and is keen to test himself against the Aussies before competitive World Cup Qualifiers in August.
“Winning the match is what I want for a gift, it’s important for our preparation for the World Cup,” Coutinho said.
“It’s another team, another style of football. I want us to play a very good match.”

Coutinho said he was aware of how physical the Socceroos will be on Tuesday night.
“I think all the players are really prepared for this game, for the style of Australia and to be a competitive game,” he said.
“They have players of quality, they are strong, tall, so it’s different from what we find in Europe so we are prepared for this.

With the absence of Neymar in the squad, Coutinho has attracted the most attention from the Australian public.
He said he was surprised how many Liverpool fans there were in Melbourne and was grateful for the public’s support.
“It’s a huge responsibility for me (being the face of the team) but we divide this with all the players,” he said.
“I realise here there are many fans from Liverpool, at the match there were many people shouting for Liverpool. We are looking forward to this next game.”
This game is a farewell match for the Roos who jet off to the 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia after the conclusion of the game.
