LUCKLESS Melbourne Victory star Billy Celeski is facing a year on the sidelines after scans confirmed he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament playing against Newcastle Jets last night.
The midfielder Billy Celeski will miss the remainder of the season and is unlikely to feature in the AFC Champions League next year, his club confirmed today.
Celeski was stretchered from Etihad Stadium after landing awkwardly on his left leg in the opening minutes of Melbourne Victory's match against Newcastle Jets on Thursday and will see a surgeon on Monday with a view to operate as soon as possible.
The 24-year-old made his international debut for Australia against Indonesia earlier this year and hasn't missed a Hyundai A-League match since joining Melbourne Victory from Perth Glory in 2008.
