Shanghai SIPG recorded their first win of the season at home to Changchun Yatai in Chinese Super League action on Sunday.
Last season's Chinese League One champions struck twice in the opening 45 minutes to beat Changchun 2-0.
Shanghai needed 14 minutes to break the deadlock as Wu Lei found the back of the net and Lu Wenjun doubled the hosts' advantage just three minutes later.
The scores remained the same until the final whistle, condemning winless Changchun to their third loss of the season.
Meanwhile, Hangzhou and lowly Shanghai Shenhua shared the spoils in a goalless draw at Yellow Dragon Sports Center.
