MANCHESTER City midfielder Nigel De Jong hailed a strong defensive display as Roberto Mancini's men claimed a 1-0 win over Chelsea at Eastlands this afternoon.
Carlos Tevez's second-half strike ended the Blues' 100 per cent start to the Barclays Premier League season.
"We knew that we had to win today," De Jong said on Sky Sports 2. "We just have to work hard and continue this.
"From the first minute we put the pressure on.
"If you saw how we defended from the front to the back that's why we kept a clean sheet."
