Nagoya shaded the best of the chances at Mizuho Track and Field Stadium but both sides were forced to settle for a goalless draw that sees them level at the top of the table after both secured opening wins last week.

Nagoya boss Dragan Stojkovic brought in midfielders Keita Sugimoto and Kei Yamaguchi in place of Brazilian Magnum and Naoshi Nakamura but it was the prolific Davi who had the game's first opportunity as he headed Shohei Abe's cross over the Beijing bar.

The visitors began to dominate possession and it took until the 27th minute for Grampus to threaten again but Yoshimizu Ogawa directed Davi's cross wide of the goal before Keiji Yoshimura also failed to hit the target after he was played in by Keiji Tamada.

Beijing goalkeeper Yang Zhi produced a smart save to keep out Davi's effort from 25 yards midway through the second period and opposite number Seigo Narazaki then denied Hwang Bowen.

With time running out, Beijing almost grabbed a dramatic winner when Guo's effort beat Narazaki but not the woodwork.
