JOHN Aloisi scored his first goals for Central Coast against his home town club to send the Mariners six points clear at the top of the Hyundai A-League.

Both Aloisi and young gun Matt Simon received standing ovations from the home support after running riot on the Adelaide United back four.
The Reds were lucky not to lose by three with a goal disallowed in the first half for offside even though Simon looked to be in a legal position.
But it was left to Aloisi to make the headlines with a goal from the penalty spot and a sublime side foot volley ten minutes apart in the second 45.
“I’ve been waiting a while to score in Australia, to play back in Australia,” said Aloisi.
“I was happy to get a couple today and most importantly I was happy about the result.
“All the boys put in. I thought today we were brilliant.”
He added: “Last week we didn’t play as we would have liked, we played well for fifteen minutes and once this team starts playing well we’re going to be dangerous.
“We showed today against a top Adelaide side that we can play a bit and I thought we deserved the win.”
Central Coast started the better side, controlling possession in midfield and even forcing United goalkeeper Eugene Galekovic into an early save.
The Mariners pressed and contained the United attack effectively, with Adelaide not having a shot on goal until the 20th minute when Lucas Pantelis fired wide from distance.
But within minutes the game came alive as both sides attacked on the counter, resulting in the best chance falling to Travis Dodd who skied his shot from seven yards.
Tom Pondeljak had Galekovic scrambling on the turn in the 37th minute when a favourable bounce played in the Mariners midfielder.
Although Galekovic made the save, the ball bounced agonisingly toward goal. The former Victory keeper managed to recover in time, saving on the line and colliding with the post.
Central Coast had the ball in the back of the net in the 38th minute after some bad United defending when Aloisi crossed from close range for Matt Simon to finish with his head.
As the whole Mariners team celebrated the goal was disallowed for offside even though replays suggested Simon was level with Aloisi when the ball was played.
United immediately attacked as not one single player was in the Mariners defensive half, only for the referee to call play back as the whistle had not yet sounded.
The first half finished 0-0 despite both sides creating chances in the final five minutes with Adelaide particularly wasteful from a number of corners.
The second 45 got off to the perfect start for Central Coast in the 48th minute when Aloisi was played into the box and brought down by Galekovic who received a yellow card for his troubles.
The hero from the spot against Uruguay in 2005 picked himself up and calmly placed the ball down the middle for his first A-League goal and a deserved 1-0 lead.
Just ten minutes later, Aloisi doubled his tally with a superbly taken volley after some tenacious work on the left wing by Matt Simon.
John Hutchinson provided an inch perfect cross for Aloisi who gave everyone at Bluetongue Stadium a lesson in expert finishing.
United responded well, forcing Danny Vukovic to save from a Diego header but the Mariners continued to get on top of the Reds as the home crowd spurred them on.
Adelaide chased the game bringing on Paul Agostino and showing some decent approach play but they couldn’t find a breakthrough, lacking the final ball.
However this was Aloisi and the Mariners' day as they soaked up the pressure and held on to take a six point gap at the top the ladder.
