Socceroo Milos Degenek returned from injury overnight as 1860 Munich thrashed 10-man Erzgebirge Aue 6-2 in Germany’s 2.Bundesliga.
Degenek hadn’t played since September 23 when he tore ligaments in his right knee against St Pauli.
The 22-year-old was expected to miss up to eight weeks but told FourFourTwo earlier this month he was hoping for a quicker recovery.
Degenek returned ahead of schedule, playing the second half of 1860’s big win as a 46th minute substitute.
It’s positive news for Degenek who was this week named in an extended 30-man Socceroos squad for next month’s World Cup qualifier against Thailand.
Elsewhere overnight, Massimo Luongo put in a full shift as QPR lost 2-0 at home to Brentford in the Championship.
Nikolai Topor-Stanley played a full game as Hatta Club made it back-to-back wins since his arrival, knocking off Emirates 2-1 in the UAE.
