Mbenza Bedi had put Mazembe ahead after 28 minutes to raise the possibility of an upset against the favoured Steelers, but former Feyenoord man Denilson scored in the 50th and 78th minutes to turn the game on its head.

Mazembe began the game brightly, with Dioku Kaluyituka and Bedi both going close with chances as the Steelers initially failed to find their rhythm.

Eventually the Steelers began to come into the game, forcing a pair of saves from Muteba Kidiba and it was perhaps against the run of play when Bedi grabbed the opener.

Mabi Mputu played a clever through-ball and Bedi lashed a shot home from 25 yards.

The Steelers seemed stunned, and failed to muster much of a threat until the final minutes of the half when Kidiba had to make three saves to deny Namkung Do, Denilson and Kim Jae Sung.

But things changed in the second half when Denilson nodded home No Byung-Jun's cross after only five minutes after the restart and the Steelers kept on pushing for a winner.

Kidiba proved tough to beat but could do nothing about Denilson's second, a powerful shot which sent the Steelers through to face Estudiantes in the semi-finals.
