France secured top spot in Group C and Denmark progressed behind them following a woefully underwhelming draw at the Luzhniki Stadium.
Les Bleus gave an opportunity to Steven N'Zonzi and Thomas Lemar to impress in midfield and attack, but neither left a memorable mark on a sleepy affair which rarely got out of fourth gear, let alone second or third.
For Denmark's part, they showed early signs of promise when the industrious Martin Braithwaite made inroads, but his impact faded and by the hour mark, both teams appeared to have abandoned the idea of providing a goal for the fans left to slumber in their seats in the afternoon sun.
Nabil Fekir provided a bit of a spark after his late introduction, but this was a match that had been fairly apparent would end goalless as far back as half-time.
Both sides remain unbeaten as they advance through the group, but - and who would have imagined this would be criticism levelled at France before the tournament - a shared lack of attacking quality shown so far suggests they'll come a cropper against more exciting and inspiring opposition in the knockout stages.
DENMARK
Kasper Schmeichel (GK) - 7
Sound handling from Schmeichel throughout the match, although he wasn't overly tested by any of France's undercooked efforts.
Simon Kjaer (CB) - 8
A calm and collected, captain's presence at the back, with great awareness of whatever danger - which, admittedly, never passed the mild mark - was posed around him.
Andreas Christensen (CB) - 7
On hand to deal with any aerial threat that came his way. After half-time, he was also prepared to push on to a more advanced position as a reinforcement for the midfield scrap. The fact he was able to spoke volumes about France's lack of intensity.
Mathias Jorgensen (CB) - 7
Unceremoniously took down Antoine Griezmann when the French forward broke forward with the ball. It was cynical, and punished with a booking, but it achieved the desired result.
Henrik Dalsgaard (RWB) - 7
Tucked in very deep to thwart any threat was simmering from Lemar.
Jens Stryger Larsen (LWB) - 6
Given an easy ride, untroubled all afternoon by Ousmane Dembele.
Thomas Delaney (CM) - 7
Produced an excellent touch early on to release Andreas Cornelius, and mucked in with the dirty stuff in midfield.
Christian Eriksen (CM) - 7.5
His trademark choppy changes of direction throughout the match had his markers stumbling to stay upright, and one terrific burst of pace in the first half nearly had him in a scoring position. He remained energetic in the second half, which is more than can be said for many.

Martin Braithwaite (RW) - 7
The Middlesbrough forward is usually a substitute and looked keen to make a point early on. He was full of positive running, bulldozing his way through French challenges in the first half, and was at the centre of almost every Denmark attack. Unfortunately, his impact paled away after the break.
Andreas Cornelius (CF) - 5
Unable to impact the match up front, but the Atalanta striker did at least dig in by occasionally pressuring France's central midfielders when they had the ball.
Pione Sisto (LW) - 4
The Celta Vigo attacker flittered around the French penalty area but was ineffective on the ball, generally ceding possession back to Les Bleus. Subbed on the hour mark.
SUBS
Viktor Fischer - 6
Looked handy in possession but he merely kept things ticking over after emerging from the bench.
Dolberg - N/A
Introduced for Andreas Cornelius with a quarter of an hour to go, and barely got a look-in.
Lukas Lerager - N/A
Had 180 seconds on the field.
FRANCE
Steve Mandanda (GK) - 6
Les Bleus' back-up keeper was guilty of a bit of rusty distribution in the first half but showed good anticipation to race off his line and deny Eriksen midway through the opening period. Needed two touches to deal with a rasping second-half free-kick from the Danish maestro, though.
Djibril Sidibe (RB) - 6
Full of boundless energy to break forward, but too often the Monaco full-back failed to deliver crosses of the required quality.
Raphael Varane (CB) - 7
Played the role of quarterback in the early stages, classily pinging balls into areas where Olivier Giroud could attempt pose a problem for the opposition. He was composed throughout.
Presnel Kimpembe (CB) - 6.5
Earning just his third cap, the 22 year-old PSG defender was bullied off the ball by Braithwaite in the opening exchanges. There's no faulting his positional sense, but Samuel Umtiti's first-choice status is safe.

Lucas Hernandez (LB) - 6.5
Quickly set to work getting up to his usual tricks that the Socceroos saw first hand in the opening match, exaggerating the impact of tackles by Danish defenders. Withdrawn in the 50th minute.
N'golo Kante (CM) - 7
Quick to pounce onto any loose ball in midfield - which happened often in an untidy affair - but his passing was disappointing.
Steven N'Zonzi (CM) - 6.5
He did his job - but no more than that. His short passing was well-measured but he didn't take any great risks, when risks were what were needed against such overly-reserved opposition.
Ousmane Dembele (RW) - 3
Difficult to dispossess on the rare occasion he had the ball, but Dembele was merely a spectator for much of the match, and damningly, did little to try to change that. He should have been subbed long before his number was raised on 78 minutes.
Antoine Griezmann (AMF) - 5
So very subdued. A huge tournament was anticipated for Griezmann in the run-up to Russia, but he's yet to fully click into gear.
A number of loose touches and miscued crosses blotted his first half. Didier Deschamps subbed him after 69 minutes and may need to tweak his formation to bring the best out of his would-be - and should-be - star-man.
Thomas Lemar (LW) - 6
Lemar is France's delivery man from set pieces in this tournament, and he generally got them right on the money, curling them with purpose into dangerous corridors. In open play though, his forward runs led him into to blind alleys.
Olivier Giroud (CF) - 6.5
Giroud did what Giroud does - backing into defenders and demanding the ball, before turning it wide for his teammates. That, he did adequately. His shooting was woeful.
SUBS
Benjamin Mendy - 7
Introduced just five minutes into the second half for Hernandez and delivered a few decent crosses into the box. A few dud ones too, though.
Nabil Fekir - 8
Thrashed a shot into the side netting inside a minute of his introduction to stir the spectators from their second-half slumber. He also forced Schmeichel into his first meaningful save with a smart shot from the edge of the area, and threw a few tricks into the mix, too.
Kylian Mbappe - N/A
Introduced too late in the day to affect any change.
