NORTH Queensland Fury coach Ian Ferguson is not interested in recruiting money-obsessed players and the Townsville boss has hailed the attitudes of his early captures.
The A-League new boys are starting to get their inaugural squad into shape with four more recruits having been unveiled last week.
Robbie Middleby, Brendon Santalab, Jacob Timpano and Jeremy Brockie have all signed for the club next season and Ferguson is thrilled that football not finance was the first point of discussion.
He told the Townsville Bulletin: "All of the players that I have spoken to, money was always secondary with them.
"It was always about the new franchise starting and how excited they were and that they would love to be a part of it and I like that stuff.
"I don't like just talking about the money and that plays a big part in my decision and if I want to bring them or not and it made it easier for me."
Ferguson is delighted with the desire being shown by all his recruits.
"The four players' (attitudes), especially with the credentials they have got and the experience they are going to bring to the club, was fantastic," he said.
Negotiations have already begun to secure the services of several overseas players with state league youngsters also expected to be handed spots in the inaugural squad.
