Bottom of the table Heart are without a win in their opening four  games and head to Hindmarsh on a mission.

The Melbourne side squandered a golden chance to snag a first win of the campaign when Nick Carle popped up in stoppage time to bag a priceless away point for the Sky Blues last week.

Heart striker Mate Dugandzic said he’s looking for a reaction from the red and whites after last week’s heartbreak.

“I suppose we are four rounds in and we haven’t got a win yet and every other team has got a win,” he said on Thursday.

Being the only club in the A-League not to have tasted the joy of three points has Heart desperate for success tonight.

“There is a little bit of pressure because we want to get our first three points of the season,” admitted Dugandzic

Heart rivals Victory got that monkey off their back last week in Wellington with a 2-1 win.

Victory said they felt the pressure was off them heading into their weekend blockbuster with Brisbane Roar.

Dugandzic, 22, hopes he’ll be able to say that next week and tipped fireworks against the Reds who sit second bottom on three points.

“If the ball’s there to be won I’m sure none of the boys will be backing out of it," he said.

“Obviously with Adelaide they’ll be fired up after their result [losing 7-1 last week to Roar] and losing to Sydney the week before."

For their part Adelaide’s season has come unstuck over the last fortnight with a home loss to Sydney and that Brisbane belting.

However, they’ll be boosted by the return of Bruce Djite to their attack. He’s set to form a three man strike-force with in-form Dario Vidosic and Sergio Van Dijk.

“I think everyone has got a lot to prove now,” said Djite.

“Training has been fantastic this week, everyone’s fit, so the competition for places is hotter than it was before and everyone has got to put their hand up now and show a bit of character and show what we’re about.”

Heart too must stand up. And with key Heart creator Fred potentially returning to the fold after injury, John van't Schip will have a headache trying to fit all his strikers in - particularly after Brazilian substitute Maycon scored his first of the season last week.

The in-form Dugandzic said he didn’t mind who he partnered in the red and white strike-force.

He added: “Just as long as we get the three points, I’ll be a happy man.”
