Dong Tam were looking to build on victories against Huda Hue and Khanh Hoa in the first two rounds of games but were unable to manage a breakthrough at winless Dong Thap.

Despite the dropped points Dong Tam, who host Australian side Adelaide United in an AFC Champions League Group G clash on Wednesday, remained on top of the V-League standings on goal difference as Binh Duong also saw their 100% record snapped in a goalless draw at Thanh Hoa.

The two clubs remained tied for first place as Nam Dinh, Hoa Phat Hanoi, Song Lam Nghe An and Da Nang all failed to win.

Tran Trong Loc's 73rd minute equalizer earned Nam Dinh a 1-1 draw against Hoa Phat, Song Lam suffered a surprise 3-2 home defeat to newly-promoted Huda Hue and Da Nang went down 2-1 at Khahn Hoa.

Hoang Anh Gia Lai moved up to third spot with a 2-0 win against Cang Sai Gon, while Binh Dinh picked up their first victory of the season, defeating Hanoi ACB by the same score.
