LANDON Donovan, who has been on loan with Bayern Munich, will return to the Los Angeles Galaxy next week, the team announced today.
Donovan, who turned 27 yesterday, has been with the Bundesliga champions on a short-term deal since January 22.
Donovan will return on March 10 - nearly two weeks before the Galaxy's season opener against DC United on March 22.
"We are looking forward to Landon re-joining the club next week as we continue our final preparations for the 2009 MLS Season, including our final pre-season match against the Chicago Fire in Tempe, Arizona," Galaxy general manager and head coach Bruce Arena said.
"He is a very important part of our club and will be coming back to us very motivated and fit for the upcoming season."
The Galaxy's 2008 MVP, Donovan scored a career-best 20 goals last year to lead MLS, while adding nine assists in 25 games.
He is the all-time leading scorer in US national team history with 37 goals in 107 appearances.
